FLL

Imaginative Innovation

FIRST Lego League (FLL) revolutionizes the tools kids are familiar with and introduces them to a new realm of possibility. Students watch as the simple building blocks they know so well become customizable, complex machines subject to their own imagination. They turn from kids to engineers.

Twice the Fun

In the 2019 season, we introduced our second FLL team: The Hot Dogs!
Two teams doesn’t just mean double the fun, but double the engineers. We’re now able to offer 20 spots in our FLL program!

FLL Season

Team Meetings

Students work together to design mechanisms that can solve the challenges presented in the current FLL game. They then divide into teams to build and program their own EV3 robot. Along with robot design, students are asked to create an innovation project that solves a problem based on that year’s theme. They’ll conduct research and planning before presenting their solution to the judges at competition.

Competition

After months of building, programming, and testing, students face the judges. Teams are judged in 4 categories: Robot Performance, Engineering Design, Core Values, and Innovation Project. Not only will their work be tested, but also their teamwork. Throughout the day, teams will continue to make improvements on their robot, in order to achieve the highest scores possible.
